Grapefruit I crave grapefruit often. I find that when I listen to this craving, my body responds. So many have spoken of the grapefruit "diet". I don't include diet as a fad in my vocabulary. My diet is what I eat regularly. grapefruit is a whole food. A natural source of vitamin c, fiber, and flavonoids. These flavonoids are what have gained coverage for their "fat fighting" abilities. Any whole food will aid you body in running smoothly thus promoting a healthy weight. Grapefruit is also alkaline once ingested. This alkaline environment, when maintained, probably accounts for most of the fat fighting abilities. The body is best able to function when alkaline. Acidic states promote disease and inflammation. So forget the fads, forget the diets, and eat whole foods. foods that contain nutrients and vitamans. In the end the body will be whole and respond. to your health...
