Do you feel better once you talk it out? Is the body free when the mind is at peace?
I saw a friend today who has been experiencing excruciating back pain lately. Today he looked, sounded, and felt 100% better. I asked what happened? He said he doesn't know but since the day we talked he hasn't needed pain medications and he doesn't know why (as he smiled!). That day we spoke I just listened while he described his intense frustrations and how he saw this pain negatively affecting his life. I offered optimistic feedback and encouragement but basically allowed him to express himself. Do you think purging negative feelings, expressing himself, and ultimately listening to his own words, healed his mind and body? I think it helped. Listening and communicating is one of the most vital human arts.
Express yourself and most importantly be there to listen. You may just change a life. We all have the potential to heal and what a world it would be if we offered our hearts as well as our minds...And sometimes that simply involves listening. Don't you JUST want someone to listen sometimes? This is the body talking to the mind. Your body knows what it needs. Our gifts are all right here.
Much love and listening!
