As I've fought a sore throat and now cough, I've included a few doses of raw, local honey in my diet. Not only can honey coat the throat, but raw honey provides immune boosting antioxidants and enzymes. Raw honey is also a natural antimicrobial and antiviral. Local raw honey has also helped many people with allergies.
These natural nutrients are stripped when raw honey is processed(not raw). You may also think that honey is just sugar, but raw honey does not even compare to refined sugar. Empty calories deplete the body whereas vitamins and minerals restore the body. Additionally, honey digests itself with all it's live enzymes and spares key nutrients needed for the body's fat metabolism. Therefore honey has been known as a helpful diet aid. So, explore the benefits of raw honey! The benefits I've listed above are just a few! Prevent and treat....another option for optimal wellness. "And yet another emerging theory is that our diets are having a biological impact on our anxiety levels: “A diet high in sugar and saturated fat can disrupt brain functioning,” says Fernando Gómez-Pinilla, Ph.D., a professor of neurosurgery and physiological science at UCLA, who researches the effects of diet on mood disorders. “That contributes to mental disorders, particularly anxiety.” *http://www.nbcnews.com/id/39335628/ns/health-mental_health/#.UT4IhxymiAg Its not a quick fix but you have options! Examine your life. Life, wellness, and health is an art. You are the artist.
Improve your mood, strengthen your muscles, clarify your mind, and energize your spirit!
My 45 minutes outside in the brisk air motivates me for my entire day. All the tools you need you already have. The choice to begin will be the obstacle that rewards you with opportunity! Choose movement you find to be the most effective, efficient, and adaptable for you today. Two word mantra for today: Just Move! Jab the obstacle and feel the love! Spread the word! To your health... ![]() Excellent Non-Animal Source of : *B-12 *B Complex Vitamins *Fiber *Complete Protein *18 Minerals Added Benefits: *No Sodium *No Gluten *No Cholesterol *Excellent Taste (nutty, cheesy, savory) My favorite: Bragg Premium Nutritional Yeast Seasoning Add to recipes and foods to enhance flavor...soups, salads, popcorn, dips, etc. (sodium-free!) It is not a "live" yeast. Yeast will not grow in your body. Do not overuse. Due to the content of Niacin (B3) I have experienced a "flush" due to this superfood. A little, 1-2 teaspoonfuls, goes a long way! My top five to avoid:
..... or are you really thirsty? I always recommend to drink a glass of water first if you feel hungry. Dehydration manifests in numerous ways. Every body function depends upon water as our bodies are predominantly comprised of it. Mid-afternoon when you may be feeling foggy, reach for a glass of water (and add some lemon to it). Notice how you feel. For every cup of coffee or tea you drink, you need equal amounts of water on top of approximately eight glasses a day. Before reaching for that snack, drink water first to save calories, boost metabolism, and to ultimately understand how to fuel your body optimally. When I choose water first, I always feel better :) Empowered choices! To your health!
![]() As I'm listening to Brian Owens song, "I Just Want to Feel Alright", I'm reminded that sadness, fear, nervousness, anxiety, and anger are alright as well. These emotions protect us, help us, inspire us, and ultimately define us as a human being. Its o.k. to "feel". Often society nowadays tells us that we should only feel happy and sadness is not normal. Remember to feel happy you often have to experience sadness; To be unafraid, you must feel fear; To feel confident you must overcome your nerves; To be calm you must know anxiety; And to feel peace you have to embrace anger. Emotions are real. You are real. The key is to listen to your emotions and know how best to maneuver through them. The more you fight yourself, the further away you will float from your true definition. It has been a process called life that has enabled me to more fully embrace every emotion and to not label any one as bad or good. It just is, simply put. Awareness of emotion is power. This power enables us to live our best, healthiest life. Listen, love, and feel. It's o.k. To YOUR health! Protein is made up of twenty amino acids. Nine of these amino acids are not made by the body. These nine amino acids must come from food and are considered essential. Therefore those foods that contain all nine essential amino acids are called "complete protein foods". One example of a complete protein food is eggs.
